Cyclone Lola reinforces Vanuatu's calls for a Loss & Damage Fund

Although Vanuatu’s Cyclone Lola has been downgraded from category five yesterday to category three this morning, the damage is expected to be extensive with Vanuatu’s Climate Change and Disaster Management Minister calling for the world to act and set up a loss and damage fund.

An online platform backed by the green philanthropic fund of Atlassian billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes is aiming to shift 100,000 Australian workers into clean economy roles by 2027. This comes amid warnings that the nation risks failure to meet net zero target if our workforce isn’t adequately upskilled.

And in what will be an Australian first, the ACT government is introducing new human rights legislation today which seeks to address the impacts of climate change and shore up the environment for future generations.
