Kimberley traditional owners invest in green hydrogen

A unique partnership between traditional owners and climate crisis investment and advisory firm Pollination, is promising to establish a $3bn green hydrogen project near the town of Kununurra in the Kimberley. Three Indigenous groups will each have an initial 25% share in the new company, Aboriginal Clean Energy, while producing what could be one of Australia’s biggest clean energy projects powered by a million solar panels.

The Albanese Government has launched a push to introduce a national framework for recycled content traceability in products, to boost demand and confidence in recycled materials. It will make clear key information including where recycled content has come from and how it has been processed and handled. 

A multinational conglomerate has received the nod to proceed with a $315m coal project development in Queensland’s Central Highlands region. Federal Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek revealed the approval expires at the end of 2045.
