Woodside’s Goyder under pressure amidst shareholder backlash on climate

Britain’s biggest asset manager says it will vote to remove Richard Goyder as chairman of Australian oil and gas giant Woodside as shareholder backlash continues building against the board for refusing to do more to tackle global warming ahead of the company’s annual investor meeting next week.

An outback cattle station in Queensland the size of Yosemite Park which has been found to contain 34 ecosystems has been acquired for conservation by the Queensland government and the Nature Conservancy following an anonymous $21m donation.

Northern corroboree frogs have been spotted for the first time in five years in Namadgi National Park by ACT government ecologists. The species is listed as critically endangered and the government has been attempting to restore their population in the park for more than a decade.
