Toyota Shareholders Reject Climate Change Resolution

Toyota shareholders have rejected a resolution that called for greater transparency on the company's climate change efforts. The resolution would have enshrined a requirement for Toyota Motor Corporation to disclose its climate change related lobbying activities in its articles of incorporation.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has given countries around the world a strongly-worded reality check regarding their climate ambitions. In particular, he called for an end to coal, gas, and oil stating the fossil fuel industry is the "dirty heart of the climate crisis.”

And, two climate activists threw paint at a painting by French artist Claude Monet before glueing themselves to the frame at Sweden's National Museum. The Restore Wetlands activist group said the purpose of the action was to pressure the Swedish government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
