Central Queensland is becoming a renewables powerhouse

Central Queensland is continuing to establish itself as a renewables powerhouse with a new solar power station receiving a green light from the government, and Squadron Energy’s completion of the first wind turbine on what will be the largest grid-connected renewable energy station in Australia.

Meanwhile, a group of independent MPs and senators have called on the Albanese government to back their proposal for a $50 million tax concession targeted at helping landlords replace thousands of gas-fired stove tops, heating and air conditioning units in a bid to help reduce Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions.

And a report has revealed that although EV sales increased by 49% worldwide during the first 6 months of 2023, Australia is still lagging behind the world average when it comes to adopting low-emission transport technology. More than 50% of all new cars sold will need to be electric by 2030 in order for Australia to meet its climate targets.
