Activists prevented from speaking out about Woodside

Four activists have been hit with violence restraining orders that their lawyer says prevents them from making any public reference to Woodside’s CEO and effectively stops them from speaking out about the company.

Today’s much anticipated release of the government’s intergenerational report is set to paint a grim picture of the next 40 years in Australia and the impact climate change will have on workers, with Treasurer Jim Chalmers to predict a $423b hit to our economic outputs if global temperatures exceed 2 degrees.

And the NSW Forestry Corporation says it has voluntarily paused logging operations in Newry State Forest following legal action in the Land and Environment Court amidst concerns about the safety of Aboriginal cultural sites both within and close to the forest.
