# Woodside sued over Scarborough’s impact on Great Barrier Reef as report reveals extent of spills risk

A legal bid to halt the toxic Scarborough gas development in WA is underway, arguing the impact of the project’s emissions on the Great Barrier Reef will be significant and should be assessed under national environment law.
It comes as a new report from Greenpeace Australia Pacific has revealed the risk of spills from Woodside’s Burrup Hub development, [mapping](https://maps.greenpeace.org/maps/gpap/woodside-impacts-map/) for the first time the extent of a potential spill from the Hub.
And Anthony Albanese will ask Australia’s most senior intelligence chief to personally lead a review of the security threats posed by the climate crisis, which is expected to include assessing options like setting up an Office of Climate Threat Intelligence.
