More than half of young people experiencing eco-anxiety

A survey conducted by Headspace shows more than half of young people in Australia are experiencing eco-anxiey due to climate change. While repeated natural disasters is exacerbating their fear for the future, respondents said their eco-anxiety was eased by taking action.

More than 40 plants and animals have been added to Australia’s list of threatened wildlife, including crayfish, frogs, insects and several plants, in what environment groups say is another reminder of the urgent need for reform.

The federal government will aim to prevent any more species from becoming endangered or extinct due to feral cats, in a new action plan it released on Thursday.
