Unions call for a smooth shift from coal to renewables

As the week opens, spare a thought for Clive Palmer and Barnaby Joyce, for whom nothing seems to be going right. Mr Palmer is throwing his toys out of the pram over the Albanese Government’s move to refuse his mega-coal mine, while Mr Joyce apparently knew nothing of Scott Morrison’s secret ministerial appointments, despite his then-role as Deputy PM, and wants people to stop asking him about it.

There, there, gents, time for a nice lie down.

Meanwhile in the real world, the City of Sydney is considering banning fossil fuel advertising, while the ACTU is calling for the establishment of an  Energy Transition Authority to manage the shift from fossil fuels to renewables.
