# The IGCC has released its latest policy priorities report for 2022-25

The Investor Group on Climate Change has released its policy priorities report for 2022-2025, outlining key areas for reform that would align Australia’s emissions target to the Paris goal of limiting warming to 1.5C and ensure the country was able to manage an “orderly” retreat from coal.
Meanwhile, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will today unveil what she's called "one of the biggest announcements our government has ever made" including the state's energy plan for the next decade.
Plus, the federal government will today release an 18-page consultation paper to inform the design of Australia's national electric vehicle strategy, which could include the introduction of much-needed fuel emissions standards - and prevent Australia from being a dumping ground for dirty cars.

Australia also needs a clear price on carbon, and to remove all fossil fuel subsidies by 2025 in order to unlock the investment needed to reach net zero by 2050, according to the new report.

The government has been tight-lipped about the announcement and its plan – which has been in the works for almost a year – but it's expected to include infrastructure investments, particularly in regional Queensland.
