NSW flood info 'incorrect and out of date'

A NSW parliamentary inquiry into the Northern Rivers and Hawkesbury flood disasters found the information from the Bureau of Meteorology and NSW SES was “incorrect and out of date”.

The damning findings come as a leading Australian climate researcher warns that trillions of dollars may be misallocated to deal with the wrong climate threats around the world because the models used by central banks and regulators aren’t fit for purpose.

And a proposal to pay ageing coal burning power stations to be on call to add their power to the grid looks in doubt after both fossil fuel and renewable power companies hit out at the plan.
