Nats' $250b fossil fuel subsidy 'completely crazy'

A thought bubble by the Nats that would have taxpayers pouring $250 billion into the fossil fuel industry has been met with derision, including from within the Coalition, which called the proposal “completely crazy”.

The Western Australian Government has ignored its own laws and allowed a fracking project to export gas, drawing criticism from environmentalists, who say the exemption clashes with promises made when the moratorium on fracking ended.

And property developer Stockland and the biggest solar battery installation firm will combine to offer discounted solar and battery connections to create virtual power plants for customers in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
