# Midnight Oil stop concert to slam Woodside's Scarborough gas project

Australian rock icons Midnight Oil stopped midway through their two-hour performance at RAC Arena in Western Australia to blast gas giant Woodside over its Scarborough gas project. Wearing a t-shirt reading “Woodside = Climate Wrecker” below screens reading “Woodside Ecocide”, frontman Peter Garrett declared the project “a corporate, moral and cultural crime”.
A new investigation by The Guardian has revealed that Australia has some of the most lax regulation of pesticide use in the western world, with permitted maximum pesticide residue levels in our food much higher than many other countries.
And the sun continues to shine on solar energy records, with rooftop solar sending demand plummeting across the grid over the weekend.
