# Maroons going green would boost economy, says new report

Queensland could grow its economy to $780 billion a year and require a million extra workers under a well-managed shift to net zero by 2050, according to a new report by Deloitte Access Economics commissioned by the Climate Council.
Australia’s iron ore industry has been issued a warning to adapt now, with a new report revealing iron ore mining companies like BHP and Fortescue could be left behind in the global switch to green steel.
As Australia pushes back on UNESCO listing the Reef as a World Heritage site “in danger”, Snapchat and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) are launching an augmented reality tool to help young Australians take action to protect the icon.
