Greta detained by German police

Climate activist Greta Thunberg was carried away and detained by police in the German village of Lutzerath. She and other demonstrators had been blocking the front of a coal mine to oppose its expansion and didn’t leave after the police had asked them to.

Electric vehicle charging stations are located all around Australia, but in many locations there are only one or two outlets, which needs to change if people are to avoid lengthy queues next summer. Significant government investment in regional EV infrastructure is the key to reducing queues for charging stations.

In China, sales of electric vehicles are expected to skyrocket with Chinese consumers set to buy 8 to 10 million EVs this year. This rise can be partly attributed to Chinese-based electric vehicle producers making more affordable cars that appeal to consumers in the world’s biggest car market.

Coral reefs harbour at least a quarter of all marine animals and plants, and are gravely threatened by overfishing, pollution and climate change.

$2.5 billion EV battery swapping investment in India
The Indian state of Maharashtra has entered a $2.5 billion partnership with Taiwan's Gogoro Inc and a local automotive systems supplier to build electric vehicle battery-swapping and charging stations in the state. The Indian government has been looking to cut emissions and pollution in major cities while reducing its oil import bill. It has offered companies millions of dollars in incentives to build EVs and their parts locally.
