High levels of so-called forever chemicals have been found in surface and groundwater all over the world, with Australia one of several hotspots for toxic PFAS, a University of New South Wales study has found.

Households are having their electricity tariffs changed to ‘time-of-use rates’, which charge them more at peak times. Many households report higher bills that they can’t afford.

Doctors, nurses and midwives dedicated to the health and well-being of Northern Territory citizens have voiced their concerns about the gas export and petrochemical manufacturing hub planned for Darwin ahead of this week’s public hearings into the proposal.
