# As Parliament resumes, here are the environment battlegrounds to watch

While the world watches the out of control wildfires in the Northern Hemisphere in horror, closer to home gusts of hot air are set to hit Canberra today as Parliament resumes. Key issues to watch include proposed changes to ARENA regulations to allow in investment in dirty fossil fuel tech, and the push to use public funds to frack the Beetaloo Basin.
As our politicians battle it out and our Federal Government pushes to give the fossil fuel industry even more funding, here’s a sobering thought: last Wednesday the Greenland ice sheet lost enough ice in a single day to cover the entire state of Florida.
